Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife

The purpose of this grant funded project was to plant trees in the spring of 2025 before competing vegetation became established so trees can grow at an accelerated pace with higher-than-normal survival rates. This project aimed to plant approximately 22,940 seedlings across 400 acres of forest that experienced near 100% tree mortality in the 2024 Retreat Wildfire.
